Disturbing Daddy

The hubs looks forward to seeing his cheeky son after a hard and sometimes frustrating day at work. But does Joshie leave daddy in peace? Of course not! Even when hubby is having dinner, he will be up to some sort of mischief. In this picture, he was having a fun time pulling his Daddy's hair.

Mummy's little helper??

I usually leave the kitchen door closed when I am in the kitchen but whenever I am steaming food, I'd open it else both Joshie and I would be sweating like crazy. Last week, this was what the little cheeky did when I opened the door. He is usually interested in the washing machine and pails only, BUT last week, ...............the 2 mops caught his attention.

After much effort, he got hold of one mop! -shakes head-
And the next day, this is what happened..............

Will he be mummy's little helper in future?

Good to train from young, huh?

Birthday presents

This is the highlight. A red electrical toy car given by Aunty Melinda, Xin Yan and Chien Hui. Thank you so much gals. Although he's too young to operate and manouver the car, he has been "head over heels in love with his car" since Saturday. He would climb in and out, play with the steering wheel, press the horn and "Music" button etc etc. All the kids were also fascinated by the car and even took turns playing with it. Hubby had to confiscate it for fear that it would be damaged as the kids kept ramming the car into the bushes, swings, see-saws etc etc.

Centre of attention

Future F1 driver?

Another big birthday present from Aunty Seow Yin.

Thomas the Train from Uncle Gideon & family and ELC water toys from Uncle Melvyn & family.

Joshie's birthday celebration (part 2)

Joshie had his 2nd birthday party last Saturday at the BBQ area of our apartment. I think he had more fun this time as two of his playmates, Oscar and Rion were there as well.

Having his dinner. And that's his birthday cake, specially hand made by Aunty Melinda. Thank you so much, Melinda.

Joshie's birthday celebration

We were back in KL during the Raya weekend to celebrate Joshie's birthday with the grandparents. Had lunch at Overseas Restaurant @ Jalan Imbi.

Here are the photos:

"Mummy, you help me to blow the candle. I don't know how. I promise I'll blow my candles next year."

A message to our one year old

Our dearest Joshua,

Or more affectionately known as Joshie.........

Today you are 1 year old. Time really flies. And you are growing up so fast.

We can still remember the day when mummy found out she was pregnant with you. She kept staring at the pregnancy test kit and wondered if her eyes were playing tricks on her. We did not plan to conceive so fast but God has other plans for us. And we are really thankful for this BIG present from God. You have been such a blessing and joy in our lives. You always put a smile on our faces and Daddy looks forward to seeing your cheeky adorable face after a hard day at work. But most of the time, you make Daddy even more tired as you refuse to sit still and force Daddy to keep up with your naughty antics.

You are indeed a cheeky boy. Sometimes, we do not know whether to laugh or scold you when we see the naughty things that you have done! And have we told you that you always wriggle like a worm? You never ever sit still. Sitting in the stroller has always been a huge struggle. We are forced to give up and use a baby carrier instead. Don't you ever feel tired, our dear boy? You also don't sit still in the high chair and always try to climb out. Thus we have to make sure that you are strapped at the shoulder and the waist. Now we have to choose which restaurant to dine in based on the straps on the highchair.

Mummy and Daddy pray that you will always be happy, healthy and obedient little boy. May God always be with you and may you always walk according to His ways. We love you our dear son.

Hugs and kisses from Mummy & Daddy

Joshie's first semi-formal class

Yesterday, we went to playschool! Yes, I know it's really early to enrol him, considering the fact that he is only 1. And no, we are not kiasu parents who want him to excel academically, be the first in class etc etc. The reason why we are sending him to class is for him to get more exposure to people, he only sees Mummy 80% of his time and we don't want him to grow up to be anti-social. And what actually drew us to this class was the 20 minute Mandarin session. The hubs and I both converse with him in English and we thought it'd be good to expose him to another language.

Here are the pictures.

Joshie chewing on his biscuit in the car seat on the way to Bibinoggs @ UE Square.

Waiting for the other student to arrive. This is a new class so there's only 2 students. The maximum they take in is 8 and they would start a class when there's a minimum of 2.

Practising his walking skills while waiting.

"Hehe, I can see you Joshie."
The other baby didn't arrive......so ended up, he was the only one student, getting full attention from the teacher.

Craft time.

"My first artwork, mummy. Is this the correct way to colour the orange?"

"And now, it's snack time. Yummy, I love the bunny cheese biscuits."
See how greedy the little cheeky is. He kept on stuffing his mouth with food.

"Teacher, I finish already. Can I have more snacks?"

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

That's approximately the number of steps Joshie can take before his legs give way......hahaha!

But when I hold both his hands, he can walk quite a distance.........just two days ago, he surprised me when he walked from our block to the clubhouse, which is about 5-7 metres, i think.

However, I realised this boy is quite impatient. Instead of taking small steps, he wants to take really huge steps and thus would end up falling down very fast. Same attitude just like his daddy!

Bintan

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

A tired Joshie on our big bed.

Daddy and Joshie at the beach.

Cycling time. The little cheeky really enjoyed himself. Guess it was a new experience for him. He sat quietly behind and did not fuss at all. Now hubby and I are thinking that maybe we can go to East Coast Park, rent a bike and get some exercise while the little boy enjoys his ride.

At the pool. He enjoyed his swim. Hubby even brought him down the slide. The slide wasn't steep so we thought it wouldn't be that fast. Hubby only realised it when he was sliding down with Joshie and by then it was too late. Hehe.....good experience for Joshie. But it wasn't his first time under water......he climbed out of his baby float several weeks ago and went head first into the water.

Spider-boy spider-walking.
Overall it was a very fun trip, though it was tiring. Thank God Joshie did not fuss when we left him with the babysitter while hubby and I indulged in other activites.

Our short holiday

We were away for 3D2N. I am dead tired now coz Joshie woke up at 6ish this morning and refused to go back to sleep. Will blog more about our trip another day.

Presents from Europe

Hubby is back......yay! Yay, yay, yay! Haha, of course I'm really glad that hubby is home. Joshie missed his daddy too and crawled to Daddy to be carried! And maybe he was too overexcited that he didn't take his afternoon nap!

Though it was a very rushed and hectic business trip, hubby managed to get us some presents.

Here's what he got for Joshie. T-shirts.........from Puma, Hard Rock and Replay. They are all a little too big as hubby was afraid his little cheeky would outgrow the clothes in just a blink of the eye.
And of course presents for his darling wife too.....hehe! Mini skirt from Puma, black sleeveless top from Hard Rock and a pair of Dior sunnies. I feel so pampered!

And lots and lots of Godiva chocs and my favourite nuts! Looks like my plan to "kam fei" has to be put on hold.

First hair cut

Joshie had his first hair cut......in a hair saloon! Not a hair saloon actually, there's this shop in Plaza Singapura who offers baby swimming lessons, baby massage and hair cuts. When he was 6 months old, hubby and I brought him for his swimming lesson - or Baby Hydrotherapy as they call it; he enjoyed himself so much that we signed him up for 10 lessons. Alas, after the 3rd lesson, he started getting upset when the float was placed around his neck. So no more swimming lessons. Luckily they were willing to convert the swimming lessons to hair cuts. Thus, there is no need for mummy to chase him round the house with a pair of scissors! Hehe......
He cried the minute I put him down on the baby chair. So the lady asked me to carry him. Carry him I did and we both ended up with hair on our T-shirts.......hehe.

No safe zone

There is no safe zone in the house for Joshie anymore. See the playpen! He climbed out of the playpen when he was just 2 days shy of turning 11 months. -shakes head-

Missing daddy

Hubby's away in Europe on a business trip. He will be back this Saturday....yay! Anyway, during his absence, I religiously email him photos of his little cheeky boy. Here are some of the photos that I have sent.
"Daddy, I am drinking water, feel so thirsty after waking up from my sleep!"

"Daddy, can you see my saliva dripping onto your beautiful, black sofa?"

"Daddy, please help me rock the boat......please"

"This is my favourite toy at the gym......shake, shake, shake."

"Daddy, i tried to climb up the slide but I failed. You reckon it's too steep for me?"

"I'm so tired."

"Daddy, I am going 'kai-kai'."

"Peek-a-boo Daddy."

"Daddy, you want to eat 'Joshie sandwich' for breakfast?"

Mummy, come and see how much I weigh.....

"Let me try and stand up first. Then the weighing scale will show me how heavy I am. Mummy and Daddy weigh themselves very often, it's time I start being concerned about my weight as well"

"Mummy, come quick and see how much I weigh. I still don't know how to read the numbers. Quick mummy, I am starting to lose my balance."

My dear boy, the flashcards are not meant to be eaten!!!!

I bought a pack of Your Baby Can Read flashcards from Takashimaya during the baby fair. Have been showing Joshie the cards during his mealtimes, it's the only way I can get him to sit still. A few days ago, he grabbed one of the cards which I had carelessly placed on the dining table when I went into the kitchen to grab a spoon. And this is where the flashcard ended up.
